Community
You know what Wholestyle is about? Did you read the manifesto!? It’s about making “it” happen (whatever that may be) – while working together and feeling good about ourselves. While many may not realize they’re part of a wholestyle movement, the ideals they operate by speak volumes about the character of their WHOLE style – from their shoes to their outlook on life. That’s why wholestyle is important. If we don’t realize our need to connect and work together, we’re going to keep holding each other down, whether we realize it or not. While we work towards that goal we should empower each other to learn, grow, and even look good while doing it (in more ways than one).
We are a community. You may look at us and say “well it’s just a bunch of girls interested in shoes and clothing”, and you’re dead wrong. We blog about those things, but we are really a group of women who are committed to helping each other succeed and sometimes our writing is merely a byproduct of that.
We’re here because we like a bunch of things (things that many women do, in fact, enjoy) and so there’s a common denominator, but more important, because we want to work together to achieve – not just one goal – but ALL of our goals. We should have everything we want and we all work towards making that happen for everyone in our community.
We recognize the brightness, the intelligence and the integrity in the people we come in contact with and we forge personal connections to strengthen the bonds. When we work together, we are stronger than we would be as one. That strength is attractive. The courage and inner joy and confidence look good on us. Style encompasses so many facets of YOU.
Are you in?

Goooooooo community! I swear we’ll get that site up soon. Today the internets, tomorrow…the internets! And the world, once we get on the ball a bit more. :3

Ooh! me me me! I’m in.
This is fantastic. A couple years ago, I made it my intention to support my girlfriends, share resources, and celebrate their successes (rather than just being jealous), and of course to share my successes with others. It’s a pretty minor thing in a way, to just say “you know what? I’m happy my friend is doing well, and I’m not going to be jealous about it or try to knock her down.” On the other hand, that little decision has made worlds of difference in my life.

Mary – it does make such a difference! Good on you, for making that decision a conscious effort.
I love this “concept” and am totally 100% a firm believer! I think we all need to do our best to help one another succeed. The idea of “community” is vague and can be whatever you want it to be. I love this post and thanks for being one of those who practices what she preaches. xoxo
