London Adventure!

ALRIGHT!!  I’ve finally compiled all my photos and edited them and wrote a post for The Demoiselles and a mystery site that you’ll find out about soon… SO I’ve decided that it’s time to show you photos and let you know what I did while away!

Day 1 –

London is a “hipster hive” as my travel pal put it.  We got in and hopped a train to London.  After arriving at the hotel, we met up with my travel pal’s girl, Bini, and walked around Chelsea, and then down to the Thames.  We had dinner at an Italian joint by the eye, then went drinking.   We hit a bunch of pubs and had a mini night  photo-shoot on the Thames, with raucous Queen singalongs.  We ended up on Fleet St. and took some photos.  Since we’d just got in that day, we were super tired, so we took Ms. Girl up to the train station and headed back to Paddington and our hotel.

Day 2 -

We wandered around Regent’s Park and ended up somewhere on High Street Kensington.   We found ourselves close to Harrods and decided to go in and we were amazed; the inside is completely Egyptian themed with dens of designer couture.   Harrods was like being in a small scale but much more themed version of the Luxor – with pharaoh heads a mural on the ceiling.  In the sporting section they had a really cool, very giant wood horse.  When we were done with our Harrods experience, we wandered around through the neighborhoods until we somehow ended up on Oxford where there were tons of people out shopping.  We wandered around until it was time to meet up with a friend at the tube station, however the connection was missed, so we headed to the hotel to regroup.  We  found a fun club in Soho that didn’t actually exist, so we wandered around looking for a good place to hang out.  We had F*cking Excellent Falafel and then stopped to check out a bar.  While there wad delicious drink:  Miami Iced Tea, a mixed drink of gin, vodka, light rum, peach schnapps, triple sec, sour mix and lemon-lime soda.   The vibe was interesting and much like Seattle’s own Capitol Hill. Went to a club up the street and met some nice kids who were just a little to interested so we escaped and found ourselves in Trafalgar square which was sort of far from “home”.  We started walking and Pal almost got his pocket picked so we hailed the COOLEST CABBIE EVER who gave us tips on where to visit.  Result – didn’t get up till like 11:30 the next morning.  Fun.

Day 3 -

We lit out and checked out the palace.  The place is huge, and had crowds to match.  Apparently, that day, the Queen was in – or so I was informed.  We decided to grab breakfast and delicious Cornish pastries and then walked over to the Imperial War Museum.  They had a spy exhibit that I wanted to see, and Pal really wanted to check out the planes and tanks.  When we were done, we walked up to the waterfront and to the Tate Modern.   We only caught one set of exhibits where we saw works by Monet, Dali, Matisse and Magritte. They closed the museum before we could check out the other exhibits, so we walked down and saw Shakespeare’s globe which offered guided tours only.  We decided we have to go back during their regular season and catch a show.  After our brief stop, we walked over the millennium bridge and walked through the square mile that is the business district.   We ended up in an Irish pub, had food and watched Chelsea play Liverpool. It was a very good game but Chelsea cheats, so they won. We caught the tube home and took a nap.

Day 4 -

We set out for the Tate Modern to catch the other exhibit and you’ll have to guess who I met that day, because it was amazing…. and to be continued….

Mwahahahahahah!
