Justin not only helped pioneer fine wine in Paso Robles, but also the idea of a destination winery for visitors. The property boasts a handsome winery and tasting room, as well as the nearby Just Inn (get it?), an upscale boutique hotel with a fine dining restaurant. This industrial warehouse district is only three miles from downtown Paso Robles, and is home to a ton of great winery and tasting room options. This walkable little enclave is the perfect spot to go exploring on a laid back, carefree afternoon. If you’ve been following along on my wine adventures for a while now, you probably already know how much I love getting the opportunity to support women in wine! Riley Hubbard received a degree in Ag Business with a minor in Viticulture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and began her career in the tasting room of L’Aventure Winery. She would go on to work in Australia, and continue her formal education in France and Italy, but eventually felt called back to the Central Coast. Adelaida is one of Paso’s pioneers, and a case study for taking full advantage of the incredible range of terroirs and micro-climates to be found throughout the region. The diversity of conditions that each of their estate vineyards are exposed to result in a collection of wines that are deliciously idiosyncratic. Tastings require reservations, which can be made online, and are available Wednesday to Monday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.. They run from $25 to $75, depending on which experience you choose, though there are member discounts.
Adelaida Vineyard & Winery lays claim to the highest spot in Paso Robles, I knew this was a view I didn’t want to miss. It’s absolutely stunning! This family-owned and operated winery makes some killer Zinfandels, and the region is also home to the oldest Pinot Noir in the Central Coast, so you definitely don’t want to skip out on this delicious tasting. You’ll feel right at home in this lovely tasting room, or if you want to enjoy the beautiful weather, and you can also bring your own picnic to enjoy in their outdoor seating areas. In addition to that, they also offer a hilltop tasting, which I cannot recommend enough! Their hilltop venue is the highest point in Paso Robles, and has spectacular views.
